Help for students
Everything you need to take a class.
How to find, book, and pay for classes, manage your schedule, take courses, and leave a review.
Finding a class
You do not need an account to browse. The whole discovery calendar is open.
- How do I find classes near me?
- Open the home page and use the search box, or switch to the map view and pick a studio by location. You can also browse every studio from Find a studio.
- What do the class colors mean?
- Each class style โ Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and so on โ has its own color on the calendar, and classes can be tagged with intensity and heat. A grayed-out class has already happened; it stays visible so you can see the studio's rhythm, but you cannot book it.
- Can I see just one studio?
- Yes. Every studio has its own page with its schedule, classes, memberships, courses, and shop. Use the studio's page for anything you do regularly with them.
Booking and paying
Booking works with or without an account. Signing in keeps everything in one place.
- How do I book a class?
- Open a class from the calendar or a studio page, check the time, teacher, and spots left, then choose Book. If it is your first time at that studio, confirm your name and email โ an account is created for you, or you can sign in first.
- How do I pay?
- Free classes need nothing. Paid classes, memberships, courses, and products are paid by card at checkout. You can also use a membership, package, or pass you already hold, which is applied automatically when it covers the class.
- What if the class is full?
- Join the waitlist. If a spot opens, you are moved into the class in order and notified; you can leave the waitlist at any time from My schedule.
- I paid but did not get a confirmation.
- Check My schedule under your account; every booking appears there. If something looks wrong, contact the studio directly โ the studio owns the booking and its refunds.
Managing your schedule
Everything you have booked lives under your account, whatever studio you booked it with.
- Where do I see my upcoming classes?
- Sign in and open My schedule. It lists upcoming classes, anything on a waitlist, and your past attendance.
- How do I cancel?
- Open the booking in My schedule and cancel. Each studio sets its own cancellation window; cancelling inside the window may follow that studio's policy, and a late cancellation may be recorded. If a class you paid a drop-in for is cancelled and not refunded, the studio handles the refund.
- Can I book with several studios?
- Yes. Your account works across every studio on Shastra. Your memberships and passes are per-studio โ a package with one studio does not apply at another.
- What is the account menu?
- The avatar in the top corner. It shows whether you are signed in as a student or a studio account, links to My account, My bookings, and courses, and lets you sign out.
Your account
- Do I need an account to book?
- No. You can book and pay as a guest. Creating a student account โ choose Student when you sign up โ keeps your bookings, memberships, courses, and reviews in one place across studios.
- I signed up as a student but do not see a client portal.
- The client portal opens once you have booked with a studio, because your bookings belong to a studio. Until then you browse and book; the portal fills in as soon as you join a studio by booking.
- How do I update my details?
- Open Profile from the client portal. Details, the forms a studio requires, your memberships, and your reviews each have a tab.
- I forgot my password.
- Use Forgot password and we will email you a reset link.
Courses and certificates
- How do courses work?
- A course is a set of lessons โ recorded video or text you work through, and live sessions you attend at a scheduled time. Once you buy it, the course appears under My courses with your progress.
- Do I get a certificate?
- If the course certifies completion, you receive a certificate when you finish the required lessons. It is issued to your account and listed with your certifications.
- I bought a course as a guest.
- You can open the course straight from the emailed access link, and your progress is kept. Create an account with the same email and the course moves onto it.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews come only from people who actually booked and paid for a class.
- When can I review a class?
- Once you have attended a class you paid for. It then appears under Reviews in your profile, ready to rate from one to five stars and write up.
- Is my review public straight away?
- No โ it starts private, visible only to you and the studio. The studio can respond, and may offer to make things right with a free class, package, membership, or course. You can publish your review publicly at any time before you accept an offer.
- What happens if I accept an offer?
- Accepting settles the review: it stays private and will not be posted. That is the trade โ the studio has made it right. If you would rather still post it, decline the offer and publish instead.
- Can the studio reply to my public review?
- Yes, once, publicly. You and the studio can also keep talking privately while your review is private, before anything is posted.
Privacy and data
- What does Shastra do with my data?
- See the Terms & Privacy page for how your information is used and your choices.
- Who do I contact about a booking?
- The studio. They own your booking, its payment, and its policies. Shastra provides the platform; the studio runs the class.
